Brothers in Arms
A Bridge too Far

From www.rememberseptember44.com

"On 17 September 1944 thousands of paratroopers descended from the sky by parachute or glider up to 150 km behind enemy lines. Their goal: to secure to bridges across the rivers in Holland so that the Allied army could advance rapidly northwards and turn left into the lowlands of Germany, hereby skirting around the Siegfried line, the German defence line. If all carried out as planned it should have ended the war by Christmas 1944.

Unfortunately this daring plan, named Operation Market Garden, didn't have the expected outcome. The bridge at Arnhem proved to be 'a bridge too far'. It was here that the 2nd Panzer Corps had come to rest and refit on September 6th before attempting a counterattack in Antwerp. This was unbeknownst to the Allies. After 10 days of bitter fighting the operation ended with the evacuation of the remainder of the 1st British Airborne Division from the Arnhem area."

Jungle Island, along with MPP Games, is proud to be holding a 24 hour scenario game based on this epic battle as part of the Brothers in Arms series. The game will take place on October 2nd and 3rd. If you've never been to one of these games it really is a whole different experiance. Comments and pictures can be found on both Jungle Island's and MPP Games' websites.

Shadow Team will be in attendance for this game. We don't know what side or unit we wish to play as of yet. E-mail tlyman99@aol.com whether or not you wish to participate along with what side you would prefer to be on. We do not have a cut off date for this YET but don't delay as October is right around the corner!
